Lou McGlothian Scholarship Fund

The Lou McGlothian Memorial Scholarship (LMMS) is a lasting tribute to the life, service, and legacy of LouVenice “Lou” McGlothian, a devoted member of The Business Council, Inc. (TBC) family. Established in 2009 by The Business Council and its member organizations, the scholarship honors Lou’s 14 years of dedicated service as TBC’s administrative professional.

Throughout her time at TBC, Lou played a vital role in supporting the organization’s mission, operations, and outreach—helping to build a stronger, more connected business community. Beyond her professional contributions, Lou was known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping others. She opened her heart—and her home—to numerous foster children over the years, embodying a spirit of compassion and service that continues to inspire.

Each year, the Lou McGlothian Memorial Scholarship is awarded to at least one ethnically diverse college junior, senior, or graduate student who meets the scholarship’s eligibility criteria. This opportunity is more than financial support; it is a recognition of promise, perseverance, and purpose.

Zora Reid

University of Wisconsin-Madison

Zora Reid is a Senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she is pursuing a degree in Consumer Behavior and Marketplace Studies with a certificate in Consulting. On campus Zora is a Resident Assistant for University Housing. Zora is interested in working in the Procurement and Supply Chain Management field. She is passionate in finding ways for companies to make responsible and ethical decisions. She strives to make intentional efforts to apply classroom learning to real life application in hopes to better her professional development. In the future, Zora hopes to contribute to her community and provide mentorship to minority students as they prepare for higher education and their future careers.
